Today I am going to analysis another Kerrang double page spread, this has another band featured as this is what I want to use for my own double page spread. The title for this spread is 'Teen Spirit' which really emphasis how young the band members are. It also links in to how the photo is set out, as the band is very active in the picture; instead of having a more mature artist who would be posing. The article also has a subheading in a box which I really like, because it breaks the page up more and makes what would be a messy spread (due to the splatter effect on some of the boxes and the almost chaotic picture) into something that would be better described as organised chaos.
The conventions I would consider using would be the emphasis on how young the artists are. As most of the people I will be using for my own photos will be quite young (16-17) instead of just trying to ignore that and having the models look out of place, bringing attention to it deliberately will make the spread look a lot better. I also like the idea of the subheading describing what the article is about, and I like the style of some of the text being in boxes. The conventions I wouldn't use would be the quote that crosses both the picture and text, I feel like this would be hard to read when the page is folded. I also wouldn't include the 'What are Rolo Tomassi Made Of' box, as this space could be better filled. Instead I will include smaller pictures of the artists or a quote.
