Double Page Spread Analysis #1 Kerrang

Over the next couple of days I am going to be analysing 5 double page spreads. I've chosen the pages from the 3 different magazines I've analysed before, and I've also chosen a mixture of solo and band artists so I can see which I prefer to include. This spread is from Kerrang and features the pop-punk band All Time Low. The double page is split in half with text on the right and an image on the left; there is also some text on the left hand side in the form of captions and titles. This makes the spread look organised. The large title is a quote from the article, and links in to the casual feel of the main photo. The colour also links in with the colours in the article, but it isn't a distinctive colour in any of the pictures making the text in that yellow stand out. There are several smaller pictures from the same photo-shoot as the main picture on the right hand page. Not only does this keep the text from the article being too overwhelming, but it also shows advertises to the bands constituency as there are new photos of the artists.
The conventions I would consider using would be using a quote as a title as this is not only a good way to come up with an interesting and funny title, it hooks the reader into reading the article. Also, I really like the use of smaller photos among the article, so I will definitely be using that. The conventions I wouldn't consider using would be the Q&A style interview as I feel just a normal interview would be smoother.
