The conventions I would consider using from this double page spread would be the use of different fonts and colours in the text. This makes important words stand out and also makes the whole page look neater with the consistent colour scheme. I also like the fact that one of the colours doesn't link to the image but still looks nice compared to the other colours used. I also like the use of the name of the artist being in the corner of the page, as this makes it easier for the reader to see who the article is about especially if the title doesn't mention the artists name. The final convention that I will be using for this spread is the use of the same background on both pages. While I don't like the picture of the artist being on both pages, the same background means the page is a lot nicer to look at, and isn't too blocky, which wouldn't fit into to the childish theme I want for my made up artist for my double page spread. The conventions I wouldn't consider using would be only having two columns of text for the article. I feel like it would be hard to write so little, and I would find myself deleting parts of my article, while with three columns I would find it easier to add to my article rather than take away. I also don't want to have only one person featured on my double page spread, as a band fits into my genre much better.

Double Page Analysis #3 Kerrang
Today I am going to be analysing The Pretty Reckless' double page spread from Kerrang. This double page spread is quite image dominated, and dark. This fits in with the genre of the band and also attracks the attention of the reader as the majority of pages in Kerrang are quite bright with saturated colours. The Image fills both pages and seems to continue due to the background being the same on both pages. The colour scheme for this spread is black, white and pink. The black and white link to the image but the pink doesn't which therefore makes the text in that colour stand out more. Instead of the usual three collums of text there is only two for this spread, This makes more room for the picture but I prefer the use of three collums as it creates a nice balance. Again this is a Q&A style interview and this looks nice with the way the spread is laid out.
